Grassroots Introductory Award

The Irish FA has replaced its old Mini Soccer Leader’s Award with the newly formed Grassroots Introductory Award.  This attendance based award is aimed at volunteers, parents, and aspiring or existing coaches working in the area of Grassroots Football.  The course is 3 hours in duration, with both theoretical and practical content.  Participants who complete the course will be presented with the “Grassroots Introductory Certificate” and resource booklet.

This award is not part of the ongoing coaching ladder, however it is designed to encourage those involved in Grassroots Football to gain some information and knowledge and, hopefully, the confidence to go on and take the IFA Level One Coaching Certificate.

Course Fee                                                               £34

Min Number of Participants                                  16

Max Number of Participants                                 24

A Level One Coaching Award candidate must complete 21 guided learning hours with a tutor (this includes a certified IFA Child Protection course)  The course also provides a certified football specific first aid course.

In addition to the above, each candidate must complete his / her log sheet with 6 hours’ coaching experience at their local club/school or at a CIS Licenced Mini-Soccer Centre.
